Benefit Customer Service Representative Compensation
The pay for this position is $16.50 per hour
Bilingual pay: $17.25 per hour (Spanish or French, fluent required)
Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates
Benefit Customer Service Representative Highlights
Location: Must be local to Pittsburgh, PA (Onsite Day 1 to pick up equipment; occasional onsite meetings/projects)
This position is a seasonal contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs
Schedule: Monday–Friday, no weekends
Must be flexible to work shifts between 8 AM – 11 PM
Busy season: 40+ hours per week, possible overtime
Off season: 32–40 hours per week based on client need
Benefit Customer Service Representative Responsibilities
Assist plan participants through the enrollment process and when making updates to their healthcare and/or pension plans
Respond to customers via phone, email, and instant message in a respectful, accurate, and timely manner
Customize communication style to meet different customer personalities and maintain professionalism
Handle confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies
Translate complex benefits information into simple, clear explanations
Use client plan documents and online tools to answer questions and anticipate customer needs
Document accurate and complete call notes
Participate in team meetings and training sessions
Other duties as assigned
Benefit Customer Service Representative Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Previous customer service or call center experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a structured environment and follow a set schedule
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to manage multiple open windows
Able to type a minimum of 30 words per minute
Must be comfortable working in a virtual environment
Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree
Working knowledge of health and welfare and/or defined benefit pension plans
Experience in a call center environment
Bilingual in Spanish or French (paid $.75/hour more)
